Peter has a firm understanding or the dental industry. As a long time practising dentist and Past-President of the Canadian Dental Association, he is excited to use his personal and professional expertise to help dental professionals realize and understand the value of their practices. Dr. Doig took on his roles in organized dentistry because of a deep seated belief that Canadians deserve exemplary dental care, regardless of their economic status or physical location. Prior to his term as President of the Canadian Dental Association, Dr. Doig was President of the Manitoba Dental Association and the Northern Manitoba Dental Society.
The Doig family has deep roots in the health care industry and organised health care. Peter’s father, sister and brother are all physicians, his sister is a Past-President of the Canadian Medical Association and his brother a Past-President of the Alberta Medical Association. Peter graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Dentistry in 1983 and spent almost 30 years in private practice dentistry in Manitoba. In 2012 Peter was involved in a hit and run cycling accident and was forced to take a step back from active practice. Peter focused his attention on organised dentistry and helping move his profession and colleagues forward. Peter added to his formal education by earning a post-baccalaureate diploma in management from Athabasca University.
Peter holds a real estate licence in the province of Manitoba and an Accredited Commercial Professional designation. He is eager to assist dentists in the appraisal and sale of their practices and to help ROI further its position as the national practice appraisal and sales leader.
