Dr. John Badger, DDS, FICD, graduated from McGill University’s Faculty of Dentistry in 1967. He began his dental practice career in Dorval, Quebec, where he was an associate in a practice for two years.
In 1969 he established a private practice of his own in Pointe Claire, Quebec, moved to larger facilities in 1974 and practiced until retiring in 2018. During his 51 years in private practice, John took a very active role in organized dentistry. His involvement has included two terms as a director of the Montreal Dental Study Club, six years as an administrator of the Quebec Dental Surgeons’ Association (QDSA) and two years on the executive of the Quebec Dental Surgeons’ Association (QDSA). He was also a part-time faculty member at McGill for over a decade and is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.”
Since becoming a Senior Associate with ROI Corporation in the late 90’s, John has had the opportunity to make presentations to various study clubs in the Montreal area and within the McGill University CE program. Fluently bilingual in English and French, John is always available to the dentists of Quebec to discuss their practice appraisal and brokerage needs.
Dr. Marcia Boyd, CM DDS MA LHD(H) DSc(H) LLD(H) FACD joined ROI Corporation as a Senior Associate in 2005. Dr. Boyd’s stellar career is best illustrated through her longstanding leadership at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Dentistry, in dental education, research, administration and organized dentistry. Although “retired” from the Faculty and from private practice in 2012 she does contract work worldwide as well as serving as a consultant for the National Dental Examining Board of Canada and participating on a variety of national committees.
Dr. Boyd is widely known having presented at professional conferences in Canada, the US and internationally. She has been recognized with Honorary Membership in both the Canadian Dental Association and the American Dental Association as well as the College of Dental Surgeons of BC and the BC Dental Association.
In recognition of her contributions to the profession she has received many other honours, several teaching awards and four honorary degrees. She has received the Callahan Memorial Award from the Ohio Dental Association and the Order of Canada.
In her most recent accomplishment she was awarded the Medal of Honour, the Canadian Dental Association’s highest recognition.The Medal of Honour is the highest award conferred by the Canadian Dental Association. It is given to a dentist in recognition of a lifetime of outstanding service and professional achievement to the benefit of the dental profession, the dental community and society at large, and to which can be attributed significant change. The breadth and scope of achievement are significant factors in receipt of this award, as is the contribution that the individual has made to the goals and objectives of the Canadian Dental Association. Due to the distinctive and special nature of this award, the award may not be conferred in any one year.
Marcia lives in Vancouver and looks forward to sharing her wisdom and experience with the dentists of British Columbia as it relates to all aspects and stages of one’s dental career.
